“It was summer of 2015 when the news hit us real hard without us being ready for it.
The reason why Josh’s voice started changing prematurely and showing puberty signs early was - a tumor.
It’s hard to express the level of despair you feel at that moment. You start going through all the nice memories you collected together. Because there is this idea now in your head that you can’t get rid of - it’s the end. That’s it.
Then you start going through the treatments and eventually this becomes a routine. Check up. Talking. Treatment. MRI. Checkup …You get used to it. And then you start having hope. Hope that this is not the end and there is way out of this.
Josh still has the tumor. But it stopped growing. He can live his life. He graduated with very good marks. And is going now for engineering at U of M. He has hope for a future that he can shape for himself. Will it come back? Nobody knows. All we know is this - hope is something that you carry in the days of darkness and eventually it leads you to the light.”
Congratulations, Josh! From a difficult start to graduating with top marks and heading into engineering, your determination and hope are truly inspiring. Here’s to a bright future ahead!❤️🎗️
