2026 CHILDHOOD CANCER WARRIOR HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE ALYX!

“Alyx was diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia) on July 18th, 2014 at the age of 6. This was literally the worst day of our lives and will never be forgotten! She endured many pokes, procedures, surgeries, blood and platelet transfusions, and spinal taps, all of which were terrifying. Our family was pulled apart as I became the primary caregiver, her dad worked and our son had to stay at the grandparents. So many trips to Winnipeg from Neepawa which was very expensive and exhausting. Seeing her going through all of this was absolutely heartbreaking. Children’s hospital, emerg, CK5 and RMH became our second homes. So thankful for meeting Candlelighters. They quickly became a big part of our family and helped out in so many different ways! Food, gift cards, events to name a few. The most important was meeting people that were going through the same journey as we were. They instantly became our family! So thank you Candlelighters for everything that you do! Alyx graduated from Neepawa Area Collegiate.”
